His Ranji debut was cut short against Jharkhand when he was struck by Varun Aaron’s delivery. He needed surgery and had to miss the Ranji season as a result.

He was also the season’s second-highest run-scorer. On February 25, he began his List-A debut by playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Himachal Pradesh. It was a great start for him, as he scored 132 runs in the match, leading his team to a 25-run victory.

IPL Career

On his debut, the duo of Rahul Tewatia and Sanju Samson sent him back to Pavillion on his first ball. He did, however, go on to score three successive half-centuries in three games.
